About the Team

Beam’s engineering team is building the core infrastructure for self-learning agents, turning AI into reliable, production-grade systems. We work across the full stack, from frontend to infra, solving for real-time orchestration, tool integration, and complex workflow execution. This is a high-trust, high-impact environment where engineers move fast, ship often, and help shape both the product and the platform as we scale. If you care about building with clarity, speed, and depth, you’ll do your best work here.

About the Role

As a Staff Frontend Engineer at Beam, you will play a lead role in defining the future of our frontend architecture. You’ll guide design decisions, set engineering standards, and build scalable, performant web applications that power our AI Agent platform. This is a senior technical leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of deep technical execution, cross-functional collaboration, and long-term platform thinking.

We are looking for someone who brings architectural maturity, a hands-on mindset, and a strong sense of ownership in building user-facing systems at scale..

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will entail the following:

  • Lead and evolve the frontend architecture, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and long-term design consistency.

  • Evaluate and implement component-driven development practices and reusable UI structures.

  • Build and maintain complex, high-performance, and responsive web applications used by global teams and clients.

  • Partner with backend and ML engineers to ensure frontend systems integrate cleanly with dynamic, AI-driven workflows.

  • Drive engineering best practices across the frontend stack, testing, documentation, performance optimization, and accessibility.

  • Contribute to design reviews, system-level decisions, and technical planning alongside engineering leadership.

  • Mentor frontend engineers, lead code reviews, and help shape a strong engineering culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in frontend development, including technical leadership in complex product environments.

  • Advanced proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and React.js.

  • Proven ability to architect and scale frontend systems in complex product environments.

  • Deep understanding of component-based development, responsive design, and frontend performance optimisation.

  • Experience with state management tools like React Query or Redux Toolkit.

  • Familiarity with styling systems such as styled-components or other CSS-in-JS solutions.

  • Strong grasp of version control workflows (Git/GitHub) and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across product, design, and backend teams.

Benefits | Why Beam?

At Beam, we’re building an environment where ambitious people can do their best work, with clarity, purpose, and room to grow. We’re thoughtful about what we build, how we work, and who we hire. The problems we’re solving are real. The systems we’re building are complex. And the people here care deeply, about craft, about speed, and about doing work that actually matters. You won’t find rigid hierarchies or endless process here. You’ll find high trust, high standards, and a team driven by curiosity, ownership, and long-term thinking.

What you’ll find here

  • Ownership with clarity: You’ll drive work from idea to execution in a high-context, high-autonomy environment. We trust people to lead and follow through.

  • Growth that compounds: Whether you're deepening your technical expertise, exploring leadership, or learning across disciplines, we support growth paths that aren’t one-size-fits-all.

  • Work that matters: You’ll contribute to AI-native systems already powering real-world operations, not just prototypes or experiments.

  • Aligned incentives: We offer competitive compensation and meaningful equity, designed for long-term value creation, not just short-term rewards. When Beam wins, you do too.

  • A culture that raises the bar: You’ll work with sharp, kind teammates who value directness, curiosity, and momentum. We challenge each other to do better and support each other every step of the way.

If this sounds like the kind of work you want to do and the kind of team you want to grow with, we’d love to hear from you!
