File compression

A Beam agent packs files into a ZIP archive through the API whenever a workflow calls for it, for instance when a batch of documents is ready to hand off. It reads the source files, applies your rules on what to include and how to name the archive, and produces the compressed output where your team expects it. A note confirms the archive is ready. Files that are missing, exceed a size limit you set, or fail to compress cleanly are not silently skipped. The agent reports those to a person so nothing important is left out of the package.

Archive extraction

Incoming ZIP files often need unpacking before their contents can be used. A Beam agent reads an archive through the API, extracts the files inside following your rules, and places them where the next step expects, recording what came out. Expected files that are absent, an archive that will not open, or contents that do not match what the rule anticipated are flagged rather than passed along. The agent hands those to a person to inspect, so a corrupt or unexpected archive does not quietly feed bad files into the rest of your workflow.

Batch packaging

For recurring handoffs, a Beam agent groups many files into archives on the schedule or event your team defines, reading each source set and packing it under the naming and grouping rules you set. It records which files went into which archive and notifies the recipient or system that they are ready. Batches that come up short, exceed the limits you configured, or include files failing a check are held for review. A person confirms those before delivery, so the routine packaging runs unattended while anything irregular still gets a human look first.
