Business profile lookup

Yelp holds a public profile for each business: name, address, hours, categories, and photos. A Beam agent queries a profile by its identifier, reads the current details, and applies your matching rule to reconcile them against the record you keep elsewhere. When hours or an address have shifted, the agent updates your local copy and notes what changed. Profiles that return several possible matches for one business, or listings that look merged or duplicated on Yelp, are left for a person to confirm, because binding your record to the wrong storefront would corrupt everything downstream that trusts it.

Ratings and review feed

Ratings and reviews accrue on each Yelp listing over time. The agent reads new reviews as they appear, applies the sentiment and priority rule you approved, and files each one against the right location while notifying the owner when a low rating needs a reply. Steady positive feedback can simply be recorded. Reviews with legal threats, accusations, or wording your rule marks as sensitive are never answered automatically; they are escalated to a person with the full text attached, since a canned response to a serious complaint tends to make a bad situation considerably worse.

Yelp can return businesses near a point, filtered by category, price, or rating. A Beam agent runs a search with the parameters you set, reads the results, and applies your qualification rule to shortlist places that fit, writing the keepers into your prospecting or research list. Near duplicates and closed venues are dropped by rule. Results that sit right on your threshold, or a category that returns almost nothing, are surfaced to a person to judge, because a thin or borderline list is usually a sign the query needs a human eye before anyone acts on it.
