Domain ownership lookups

ViewDNS.info reports registration and ownership details for a domain. When a domain shows up in a lead, a vendor record, or a security check, a Beam agent queries the lookup, reads the ownership and registrar data, and applies your rule to enrich or flag the record. It writes the findings onto your entry for later reference. Domains whose details are privacy-masked, or that come back linked to known-bad indicators, are routed to a person, who decides whether to proceed, since a hidden registrant can be perfectly normal or a genuine warning sign.

IP history and reverse lookups

This traces which domains an IP has hosted and how records changed over time. A Beam agent runs the lookup when investigating an address tied to a signup or an abuse report, reads the history, and applies your rule to score the risk. It records the linked domains and any notable changes on the case. Addresses with a heavy history of unrelated or suspicious domains are handed to a person for judgment, because shared hosting means a crowded IP is not proof of wrongdoing on its own and needs a careful read.

DNS record retrieval

Pulling a domain's live DNS records shows how it is actually configured. On a check, a Beam agent retrieves the records through ViewDNS.info, reads the values for the types you care about, and applies your rule to compare them against what should be set. It writes any drift onto the monitoring record and notes the time checked. Differences that could break mail or point traffic somewhere unexpected, such as a changed MX or a new redirect, are escalated to a person before anyone assumes the domain is safe to trust.
