Live board updates

A Vestaboard shows text on a physical split-flap grid you control remotely. When a source metric changes, say a sales figure or support queue length, a Beam agent reads the new value, applies your rule for what belongs on the board, and posts the formatted message to the display. It records what was shown and when. Messages that would exceed the board's character grid, or values that look wrong compared to their usual range, are routed to a person before they appear, so the wall never shows a garbled or alarming number.

Scheduled message rotation

Boards often cycle through a set of messages on a timetable. A Beam agent follows that schedule, reads the next item and its underlying data, and applies your rule to render it onto the Vestaboard at the right slot. It logs each rotation so you can see what displayed across the day. If a scheduled message depends on data that is stale or missing, the agent skips it and notifies a person, rather than posting an outdated figure or leaving an awkward blank panel on the wall for everyone to see.

Alert broadcasts

Some messages are urgent and should interrupt the normal rotation. When a watched threshold trips, an outage or a milestone, a Beam agent reads the triggering event, applies your rule for what qualifies as an alert, and pushes it straight to the Vestaboard. It records the interruption and restores the prior content once the alert clears. Events that are ambiguous, such as a metric hovering right at the threshold, are passed to a person, who decides whether the whole floor really needs to see the message right now and keeps the board credible.
