Invoice recording

UpBooks records customer invoices and their payment state. A Beam agent reads incoming invoice data from connected sources, applies your rules, and writes each invoice into UpBooks with the right customer, amount, and due date where permissions allow it. Payments received are matched to open invoices and marked accordingly. Invoices with mismatched totals, unknown customers, or unusual amounts are held and reported to a bookkeeper rather than posted. Routine billing entries happen automatically, while anything that looks off waits for a person to confirm before it hits the books.

Expense categorization

UpBooks stores expenses against categories and accounts. A Beam agent reads new expense entries, applies your categorization rules, and files each one under the correct account with notes and any linked receipt where permissions allow it. Entries that fit a known pattern post straight through. Expenses above a threshold you set, missing a receipt, or matching no clear category are flagged for a bookkeeper to code by hand. This keeps day-to-day expense records tidy while larger or ambiguous items get a human check before they affect your accounts.

Financial summary reporting

UpBooks holds the figures behind your accounts. A Beam agent reads current balances and recent activity, compiles the summary your rule defines, and posts it to the owner or channel you name on a set schedule. Figures that move outside expected ranges, or accounts that will not balance, are called out with the underlying records attached. People decide what the numbers mean and what to do about them; the agent gathers and presents them accurately and on time, and raises anything irregular for a closer look.
