Test case management

qTest stores test cases, steps, and their execution history in one place. A Beam agent watches for a test run to finish, reads the pass and fail results, and applies the rule your QA team set for each outcome. Passing cases are marked complete and linked to the release; failing ones get a defect drafted and assigned to the owning module. When a result is inconclusive or a case fails in a way the agent has not seen before, it holds the update and routes the run to a QA lead, so a person confirms status before it feeds release reporting.

Defect linkage

qTest connects failing tests to defect records so teams can trace a bug to its coverage. A Beam agent reads a new failure, checks against existing defects, and either attaches the failure to a matching open defect or files a new one following your team's rule. It updates the linked fields and notifies the assignee. When a failure could belong to more than one defect, or the root area is unclear, the agent flags it for triage by an engineer instead of forcing a link, keeping the defect history clean and traceable through the development lifecycle.

Release readiness reporting

qTest rolls test results up into coverage and status views for a release. A Beam agent reads execution totals across a cycle, compares them against the exit criteria your team defined, and updates the release record when thresholds are met. It posts a summary to the owning group and marks outstanding gaps. When coverage sits below the agreed bar or critical tests remain unrun, the agent does not sign the release off but routes the gap to a release manager, so the decision to ship rests with a person reviewing the real numbers.
