Watched History Scrobbling

Trakt records what a person watches, marking episodes and films as seen with a timestamp, a process it calls scrobbling. A Beam agent writes these watched marks when a trigger says viewing finished, reads the resulting history, and keeps a profile or shared list current. Your rule decides which sources count and how they map to titles. Plays that cannot be matched to a known title, or duplicate marks from two devices, are handed to a person, who resolves the entry so the history stays accurate rather than filling with guesses the agent made.

Watchlist and Collection Management

A watchlist holds titles someone plans to watch, and a collection tracks what they own. A Beam agent adds or removes items when a request comes in, reads the current list, and applies your rule about what belongs where. Changes are written back to Trakt and reflected wherever the list is shown. Requests to add a title Trakt cannot find, or to remove something tied to another member's list, are routed to a person, so a human sorts out the ambiguity before the shared list changes and confuses everyone relying on it.

Show Progress Tracking

Trakt tracks how far through a series someone is, counting watched episodes against the total. A Beam agent reads this progress, writes it where your app displays it, and applies your rule for what to do at milestones, such as noting when a season is finished or a new episode is waiting. Series with reordered or missing episodes, or where two sources report different progress, are handed to a person, who reconciles the count, since an automated guess about position in a long-running show tends to frustrate the viewer.
