Long-Form Summarization

TLDR takes a long passage and returns a shorter version that keeps the main points. When a report or email thread lands, a Beam agent passes the full text over, reads the summary back, and writes it into a notes field or the top of the record. Your rule sets which sources get summarized and who receives the digest. Documents that come back garbled, that are too short to summarize usefully, or that carry legal or contractual weight are sent to a person, since a condensed version of that kind of text needs human sign-off first.

Key Point Extraction

Beyond a paragraph summary, TLDR can surface the handful of points that carry the message. A Beam agent requests these for each incoming item, reads the list, and files them as bullet notes against the record for a quick scan. The rule you approve decides how many points to keep and which fields they populate. When the source is dense enough that the points look thin or contradictory, the agent leaves the original untouched and asks a person to read it in full, so nothing important is lost in the shortening.

Adjustable Summary Length

Summary length can be set so the output matches where it will be read, from a one-line preview to a fuller brief. A Beam agent picks the length based on your rule, for example short text for a chat notification and longer text for a stored note, then writes each version to its destination. If a requested length would drop detail a downstream step depends on, or the text resists shortening without losing meaning, the agent flags it and a person decides how much to trim before it goes out.
