Fulfill orders and read cart and product data in Snipcart, automating store work like updating inventory counts and notifying staff of failed payments.
Order intake and fulfillment
Snipcart adds a shopping cart to a developer's own site and records each completed order. When a new order posts, a Beam agent reads the line items, customer, and shipping details, applies your approved rule, and updates your fulfillment or inventory system so the order can ship. Order status flows back to the customer record. When an order fails address validation, contains an out-of-stock item, or exceeds a value that your rule sends for review, the agent holds fulfillment and notifies a person to decide before anything ships out to the buyer.
Inventory count updates
Snipcart holds product and stock data behind the cart. A Beam agent reads sales as they complete and, following your rule, decrements stock counts and updates product records so availability stays current across the store. When a product drops below the reorder point you set, the agent alerts the store owner. Where the connector allows, restock figures flow back into Snipcart. Large or unusual adjustments, a sudden stock swing, or a mismatch between the cart and your source system are flagged for a human rather than applied automatically by the agent.
Failed payment recovery
Not every checkout succeeds, and Snipcart records declined or abandoned payments. A Beam agent reads these events and applies your approved rule: a soft decline can trigger a templated reminder to the shopper where the connector permits, while the order is marked pending on the customer record. The assigned staffer is notified when a high-value order fails. Repeated declines, signs of card testing, or anything that looks like fraud are routed to a person for review instead of being retried, so risky charges are never pushed through automatically.
