Transmit transactional and promotional texts through SMS Alert, reading recipient records and writing send results while retrying failures.
Transactional Alerts
Transactional alerts are one-off texts tied to an event, such as an order confirmation or a login code. When a triggering event fires, a Beam agent reads the recipient and message details, applies the approved template and rate limits, and sends the alert through the account. It records the send and its result. A message aimed at a number that keeps failing, or one whose content falls outside the approved templates, is held and passed to an operator, who decides whether to resend, correct the details, or suppress the number.
Promotional Campaigns
Promotional campaigns are bulk texts sent to a segment for marketing. Once a campaign is approved, a Beam agent reads the recipient list and the sending rules your team set, checks consent flags, and queues the messages within the agreed window. It updates the campaign status and reports counts as sends complete. A campaign that targets numbers without a clear consent record, or exceeds the volume your team approved, is paused and returned to a marketer, who confirms permission and scope before any messages leave the platform.
Delivery Reports
Delivery reports tell you which texts reached their handset and which did not. After a send, a Beam agent reads the returned statuses and applies the rules your team approved, retrying soft failures once and marking permanent failures on the contact. It updates each record and summarizes the results of the batch. A pattern of failures concentrated in one region or one carrier, which can point to a routing problem, is escalated to an operator, who investigates with the provider rather than letting the agent keep retrying blindly.
