Shorten long destination URLs into short links and read each link's click totals, handling routine redirect updates where the connector and permissions allow.
Bulk link shortening
Shorten.REST issues short links for long destination URLs through its API. A Beam agent triggers when a new URL lands in a campaign row or content record, reads the destination, and requests a short link under the domain and rules your team approved. The agent writes the returned short link back to the source record so the rest of the workflow can use it. If a destination looks malformed, points outside an allowed domain, or a request is rejected by the API, the agent leaves the record untouched and notifies a person to review the URL before it goes live.
Click count reporting
Each short link records how many times it was opened. A Beam agent reads these click totals on the schedule your team sets, pairs each number with the campaign or asset that owns the link, and writes the figures into your reporting sheet or CRM record. When a link shows no clicks long after launch, or traffic climbs far beyond the usual range, the agent notes the anomaly and asks a marketer to confirm whether the link, the placement, or the tracking needs attention rather than adjusting anything itself.
Expired link cleanup
Short links tied to finished campaigns eventually need retiring. A Beam agent works from a list of links your team marks as closed, reads each link's current state through the API, and applies the approved rule for what to do next, such as pointing it to a fallback page or deactivating it where permissions allow. The agent records every change against the original record. Links that still show recent traffic, or that belong to an active campaign, are held back and passed to a person before any redirect or removal happens.
