Fulfill ShipHero orders and update inventory records, automating warehouse steps like allocating stock and confirming shipments.
Order allocation and picking
When an order reaches ShipHero, an agent reads the line items, quantities, and destination, then checks stock across your warehouses. It applies your allocation rules, assigns the order to a location with inventory, and marks it ready to pick so the floor can work it. Orders that map cleanly to available stock are allocated without review. When an item is short, an order splits across warehouses in a way your rules do not settle, or a SKU has no stock anywhere, the agent holds the order and notifies an operations owner to decide on a backorder, substitution, or split.
Inventory level updates
As receipts, adjustments, and sales change stock, an agent keeps ShipHero counts aligned with what your other systems report. It reads incoming quantities, applies your rules, and updates on hand and available figures per SKU and location. Movements that line up cleanly are written through. When a count in ShipHero disagrees with a connected system beyond your tolerance, a SKU goes negative, or an adjustment lacks a reason the rules require, the agent stops short of writing and routes the difference to an inventory owner, who investigates and corrects the source before the number is trusted downstream.
Shipment confirmation and tracking
Once a ShipHero order ships, an agent reads the shipment, tracking number, and carrier, then updates the order and notifies the connected store and customer. It applies your rules to close the order, write the tracking detail, and start any post ship steps you have defined. Clean shipments with a valid tracking number post automatically. When a shipment is missing tracking, ships partial against a rule that expects a full send, or shows a carrier the order should not use, the agent flags it and hands the order to a fulfillment owner to confirm before the customer is told it left.
