Samsara streams location, engine, and usage data from vehicles and equipment. A Beam agent reads this feed, compares readings against the thresholds your operations lead approved, and updates the asset record when something needs attention, such as an idle vehicle or an overdue check. It notifies the right dispatcher with the detail. Readings that look like sensor faults, contradict each other, or point to a safety concern are not acted on automatically; the agent files them for a person, who inspects the raw data and decides whether the alert is real before any work order follows.

Maintenance Work Orders

Maintenance in Samsara ties service schedules to each vehicle. A Beam agent watches for a due or overdue service, reads the asset's history, and opens a work order using the template and vendor rules your fleet manager set. It fills in the fault, the mileage, and the assigned shop, then updates the record and notifies the coordinator. Jobs involving a costly repair, a warranty question, or a vehicle already off the road are left for a person, who reviews the history and approves the order before the agent schedules the work.

Driver Safety Events

Safety events in Samsara capture harsh driving and camera clips tied to a driver. A Beam agent reads a new event, applies the scoring rules your safety team approved, and updates the driver's record with the incident and any coaching step that follows automatically. It notifies the supervisor when a pattern appears. Serious events, disputed clips, or anything that could affect a driver's standing are never closed by the agent; it routes them with the footage to a safety manager, who reviews the clip and makes the final call.
