Error Grouping

Rollbar collects exceptions and groups repeated occurrences into single items. A Beam agent reads new error items as they arrive, checks each against your approved severity rules, and tags or updates the item with priority and affected area. High-impact errors matching your criteria notify the on-call owner. Novel errors, sudden spikes, or items with unclear cause are routed to an engineer to investigate rather than closed on their own. The agent records its reasoning on each item so the team can trace exactly why it acted the way it did.

Deploy Tracking

Rollbar links errors to the deploy that introduced them. The agent reads deploy records and the errors that follow, applies your rule for acceptable post-release error rates, and flags a release when new failures cluster after it ships. It notifies the release owner with the affected version. Where permissions allow, it updates the item with the suspected deploy. Releases with ambiguous error patterns, or failures that predate the deploy, are handed to a developer to confirm before any rollback discussion happens on the team. The agent records what it flagged so the release history stays clear afterward.

Issue Assignment

Rollbar items can be owned, resolved, or muted. The agent reads an incoming item, matches the affected code path against your approved ownership map, and assigns the item to the right person or team. It notifies that owner and updates the item state. Items touching multiple areas, or errors with no clear owner, are routed to a lead to assign by hand. The agent logs each assignment so the team keeps an accurate record of who handled which error and when, and it notifies the new owner as soon as an item lands with them.
