Story state changes

As work progresses, a Beam agent reads a Pivotal Tracker story's current state, owner, and linked activity. It applies your approved rule to move the story between states like started, finished, or delivered, then writes the change and notifies the next person in the flow. Clean transitions that match the rule happen automatically. A story with failing checks, an unclear owner, or a blocker noted in comments is held, and the agent flags it to the project lead, so a human resolves the ambiguity before the board shows work as further along than it truly is.

Backlog point estimates

Grooming a backlog is repetitive. On a new or updated story, the agent reads the description, labels, and history of similar stories, then applies your estimation rule to suggest points and order the item in the backlog. Clear, well scoped stories are pointed and placed automatically. Anything vague, unusually large, or lacking acceptance criteria is set aside with a note, and the agent asks a product owner to weigh in, so real prioritization stays a human decision while the agent handles the routine sorting that surrounds it every planning cycle.

Label and epic tagging

Stories need consistent labels to stay findable. When a story is created or edited, the agent reads its content, applies your tagging rule to attach labels and link the right epic, and writes those associations in Tracker. Obvious matches are tagged without review. A story that could belong to several epics, uses ambiguous wording, or would create a new label outside your taxonomy is routed to a person to confirm, so the backlog stays organized under your naming rules instead of collecting one off tags that nobody bothers to maintain later.
