Assess drafts in Originality.ai, reading and writing each content record while automating AI and plagiarism checks before anything goes live.
AI content scoring
Originality.ai returns a score estimating how likely a passage was written by AI, and a Beam agent folds that check into your editorial queue. When a draft is submitted, the agent passes the text for scoring, reads the result, and records it on the content record with the threshold your team set. Drafts under the limit are marked cleared to continue. Ones scoring above it are held, and a writer or editor sees the flagged passages so a person, not the tool, decides whether to rewrite, request a source, or accept the piece as is.
Plagiarism detection
Originality.ai also compares content against published sources to surface copied passages, and a Beam agent runs that check before anything goes live. On a new draft, the agent requests a plagiarism scan, reads the match report, and notes the flagged spans and their similarity on the record. Pieces below your allowed overlap move forward automatically. Drafts with high similarity, or matches against a site your policy forbids reusing, are paused and handed to an editor with the report attached, so a person judges whether the overlap is a quote, a coincidence, or a real problem.
Editorial approval gate
Publishers want one clear signal before a piece ships, and a Beam agent builds that gate from the scores Originality.ai produces. After AI and plagiarism results return, the agent reads both, applies your combined pass rule, and stamps the content record as ready or blocked. Ready pieces advance to the next stage in your workflow tool where the connector allows. Anything that fails one check but passes the other, or lands right on a threshold, is escalated to a managing editor, who makes the borderline call the automated rule was never meant to settle alone.
