Compute instances

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure runs virtual machines and bare-metal compute you provision on demand. A Beam agent reads instance state and utilization, applies your rule for scaling, idle shutdown, or tagging, and updates the resource or notifies the owner. Instances that drift from policy, sit unexpectedly idle, or belong to a flagged project are routed to a person rather than changed automatically. The agent acts only within the permissions your tenancy grants, so routine compute housekeeping stays consistent while decisions that start, stop, or resize production workloads keep a human accountable for the call.

Storage buckets

Object and block storage on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure hold data for applications and backups. A Beam agent reads bucket and volume details, applies your rule for retention, access level, or size thresholds, and updates settings or alerts the owner when something crosses a limit. Requests to delete data, open a bucket publicly, or change retention are handed to a person for confirmation. The agent works only where permissions allow, so storage stays organized against policy while any action that risks exposing or losing data waits for explicit human approval.

Identity and access policies

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure governs who can do what through identity groups and policies. A Beam agent reads policy and group membership, applies your rule for least-privilege or review cadence, and flags drift or notifies an owner when access looks wider than intended. Any change that grants, removes, or elevates permissions is routed to a person rather than applied by the agent. It reads and reports within the permissions your tenancy allows, so access stays auditable while the decisions that actually alter who holds power over your cloud remain with a human.
