Triage incoming alerts against your on-call rules, reading each one and updating or escalating it so real incidents reach a responder fast.
Alert routing
Opsgenie ingests alerts from monitoring tools and directs them to the right responder. A Beam agent reads incoming alerts, applies your rule for priority, deduplication, or grouping, and updates the alert or notifies the on-call owner. Alerts that fit a known noisy pattern get quietened per policy, while ones that look new, severe, or unclear are escalated to a person rather than auto-closed. The agent acts only where the connector and permissions allow, so routine noise gets handled consistently and real incidents reach a human fast instead of sitting in a crowded queue.
On-call schedules
Opsgenie holds on-call rotations so alerts reach whoever is responsible right now. A Beam agent reads the active schedule, applies your rule for coverage gaps or handoffs, and updates an assignment or notifies a lead when no one is on call. Swaps, overrides, or gaps during a critical window are routed to a person to confirm rather than filled automatically. The agent works within the permissions your account grants, so day-to-day rotation upkeep stays accurate while changes that decide who carries the pager keep a human in the loop.
Escalation policies
Escalation policies decide who gets paged next when an alert goes unanswered. A Beam agent reads an alert's escalation state, applies your rule for timing and acknowledgment, and either nudges the next responder or notifies a manager per policy. Cases where escalation stalls, loops, or reaches the top without an answer are handed to a person immediately. The agent operates only where permissions allow, so the defined escalation path runs on time while a stuck or high-stakes incident lands with someone able to call in more help.
