MX connects to bank accounts and returns balances, transactions, and account detail through its APIs. A Beam agent reads refreshed account data where the connector and account permissions allow it, applies your rule, and updates your internal records or dashboard with current balances and cleared transactions. It notifies finance when a balance falls below a set floor. When a connection breaks, when an account needs re-authentication, or when returned data looks incomplete, the agent stops relying on it and routes the account to a person, who restores the connection before figures are trusted.

Transaction categorizing

MX enhances raw transactions with cleaned names and categories. A Beam agent reads new transactions, applies your rule on top of the MX category, and updates each record in your ledger or budgeting tool with the final category and tag. It notifies the owner when spend in a category passes a threshold. Where a transaction stays uncategorized, where a large charge does not fit a known vendor, or where a category would trip a compliance flag, the agent holds the entry and hands it to a person, who assigns the correct treatment.

Balance change alerts

MX keeps account balances current as new data arrives. A Beam agent reads balance movements across connected accounts, applies your rule for thresholds and expected patterns, and updates a cash-position record, then notifies the owner when a movement crosses the line you set. If a balance shifts by an unusual amount, if a payment appears that no record explains, or if two accounts disagree on a shared figure, the agent escalates the case to a person, who checks the accounts before the movement is treated as final.
