Asset ingest handling

Mux ingests source files and prepares them for streaming to any device. A Beam agent watches a trigger, a new upload or a published record, reads the asset status in Mux, and updates your content system with the playback identifier once the asset is ready, following your rule for naming and placement. It notifies the owner that the video is live. When an ingest fails, when the source format is unexpected, or when an asset stalls partway, the agent holds the publish step and routes the asset to a person, who decides how to fix the source.

Encode failure triage

Mux reports errors when an encode or ingest does not complete. A Beam agent reads each failure event, applies your rule to sort by cause and severity, and opens a ticket or updates the asset record with the detail. It notifies the engineer on duty for anything blocking a release. Where the same failure repeats across many assets, where a root cause is unclear, or where a live event is affected, the agent groups the evidence and escalates to a person, who runs the fix while the agent keeps the record current.

Playback quality alerts

Mux measures playback performance, startup time, rebuffering, and errors, across real viewers. A Beam agent reads these metrics on a schedule, compares them against the thresholds your rule sets, and updates a status record or opens a task when quality drops. It notifies the owner with the affected videos and regions. If a metric breaches during a high-traffic event, if the cause spans a provider outside Mux, or if numbers swing without clear reason, the agent flags the pattern and routes it to a person, who decides whether to intervene.
