Knowledge retrieval

Mem holds a team's notes, documents, and saved knowledge as a searchable assistant. A Beam agent queries Mem when a question or task needs context, reads the relevant notes, and applies the rules a team approved for how to use them, such as answering from approved sources only. It returns the answer into the tool where the question was asked. When Mem surfaces conflicting notes, or nothing confidently on point, the agent routes the request to a person instead of guessing, so answers stay grounded in what the team has actually written down.

Note filing

New facts, decisions, and snippets arrive constantly and need a home. An agent reads incoming content from the channels a team connects, applies the rules they approved for what belongs in Mem, such as tagging by topic and linking to related notes, and writes a clean entry into the workspace. Owners get notified when a note touches their area. Content that looks sensitive, duplicates an existing note, or cannot be classified routes to a person before it is filed, so the knowledge base grows without clutter or misplaced confidential material.

Self-organizing tags

Mem links and tags notes so related knowledge stays together. A Beam agent examines new and edited entries, applies the taxonomy a team approved, for example standard tags for projects, clients, and status, and adjusts tags or links where the rule is unambiguous. It notifies an owner when a note seems to belong to a topic they steward. Entries that span several topics, or where the right tag is genuinely unclear, route to a person. The agent keeps the structure tidy and leaves debatable categorization to someone who knows the context.
