It updates status as related events arrive and posts a note in the record. Orders that involve safety risk, unusual downtime, or spend above an approved limit are escalated to a supervisor, who confirms the assignment and priority before the crew is committed to the job.

Preventive maintenance schedules

Preventive maintenance in MaintainX repeats on time or meter intervals tied to each asset. The agent watches those schedules, and when one comes due it reads the asset history, applies your rule, and raises the recurring work order with the correct procedure attached. Routine, on-cadence jobs proceed and get assigned automatically. If an asset shows an overdue safety check, a skipped prior cycle, or a meter reading that looks wrong, the agent holds the job and alerts the maintenance planner, who reviews the asset condition and decides whether to advance the service.

Asset and procedure records

Assets, parts, and step-by-step procedures live in MaintainX as structured records the frontline follows on mobile. The agent keeps these current: when a part is consumed or a procedure is revised, it reads the change, checks it against your data rule, and updates inventory counts, asset details, or the linked procedure version. Small, well-defined corrections happen on their own. Edits that affect safety steps, compliance procedures, or asset ownership are routed to an engineer or planner, who approves the wording and the record change before it reaches technicians on the floor.
