Print and post physical mail through Lob and validate recipient addresses, automating mailing work like posting letters and correcting bad address records.
Address verification
Checking that an address is real before anything ships saves wasted postage. When a record needs mailing, the agent passes the address to Lob's verification, reads back whether it is deliverable and how it was corrected, and applies an approved rule to update the stored address to the standardized form. Clean, deliverable addresses move straight to the next step. Addresses that come back undeliverable, ambiguous between several matches, or corrected in a way that changes the recipient meaningfully are set aside for a person, who confirms the right address before a piece is sent.
Direct mail dispatch
Posting letters and postcards through Lob is work an agent can carry end to end. Once a mailing is approved, it reads the recipient list and template reference, applies a customer-approved rule about who receives what, and submits each piece to Lob where account permissions allow. Every send is written back against the contact so teams see what went out and when. Recipients with unverified addresses, duplicate entries in the same run, or a template the rule does not recognize are pulled from the batch and handed to a person before any print job is committed.
Mail delivery tracking
Knowing where a mailed piece stands matters for follow-up. As Lob reports movement on a sent item, the agent reads the latest delivery event and updates the matching record with its current state under an approved rule. Delivered pieces are closed out; ones still in transit keep their status. When a piece is returned, marked undeliverable, or stalls far past its expected window, the agent flags the record and routes it to a person, who decides whether to resend, correct the address, or reach the recipient another way instead of assuming it arrived.
