Realtime Rooms

LiveKit hosts realtime rooms that carry audio and video between users and AI models. A Beam agent provisions and watches rooms on your rules: opening a room when a session starts, reading who joined, and closing rooms that sit idle past a set time. It records each room's lifecycle for your operations log. When a session behaves oddly, runs far longer than expected, or a participant reports trouble, the agent surfaces the room to an on-call engineer with the details instead of resetting it on its own without checking.

Audio and Video Tracks

LiveKit moves individual audio and video tracks between participants and models inside a room. A Beam agent reads track state, like whether audio is flowing or a video track dropped, and applies your handling rules: noting a session that lost media, tagging quality problems, and grouping recurring issues by cause. It writes a short diagnosis for the queue. Deciding to refund a broken session, change capacity, or roll back a release stays with an engineer, whom the agent notifies with the track data it collected for context.

Session Events

LiveKit emits events as sessions start, participants connect, and rooms end, often through webhooks. A Beam agent listens for these events, reads the payloads, and updates your records under rules you set: opening a ticket when a session errors, counting concurrent sessions against a threshold, or noting unusual disconnect rates. It attaches the event details to each note. Anything that points to an outage, a security concern, or a customer impact is escalated to on-call staff with context rather than being closed automatically by the agent alone.
