A Beam agent runs a search when a task calls for it, reads the matching shows and episodes, and applies your rules about relevance and recency. It compiles the hits into a shortlist for the requesting team, with titles, publishers, and dates. Deciding which results actually matter, or whether a mention warrants outreach, stays with a person, whom the agent hands the shortlist rather than acting on a single match by itself.

Episode Metadata

Listen Notes returns structured details for each episode, including title, description, publish date, audio length, and the podcast it belongs to. A Beam agent reads this metadata for episodes it finds and populates your records under rules your team set: filling a research row, grouping episodes by show, or noting new episodes since the last check. It timestamps what it recorded. Judgments about listening to an episode, quoting it, or featuring it somewhere are left to a person, whom the agent notifies with the metadata it gathered.

Curated Playlists

Listen Notes lets you assemble episodes into curated lists that can be shared and updated over time. A Beam agent maintains a list against your rules: adding new episodes that fit a defined topic, dropping ones a source removed, and keeping the ordering your team prefers. It records each addition with its reason for the owner to see. Choosing the theme of a list, or whether an edgy episode belongs on a public one, is a human call that the agent prepares candidates for rather than deciding itself.
