Feature Flag Targeting

LaunchDarkly lets a team turn a feature on or off for specific users or segments without shipping new code. A Beam agent reads an approved rollout rule, such as enabling a feature for accounts on a certain plan, and applies the targeting change in LaunchDarkly for that flag. It records which segments are now included against the feature's rollout record so the team can trace the change later. A request to target a segment outside the plan that was originally approved is routed to a human before the flag is updated.

Progressive Rollout Control

LaunchDarkly can release a feature to a small percentage of users first and widen that percentage over time. A Beam agent reads the approved rollout schedule, such as moving from five percent to twenty five percent after a set period with no errors, and adjusts the flag's percentage in LaunchDarkly on that schedule. It checks the error rate reported for the flag before each step and notifies the team of the new percentage once applied. Any step where errors have risen since the last increase is held and routed to a human instead of proceeding automatically.

Kill Switch Rollback

LaunchDarkly lets a team turn a problematic feature off instantly for all users through a single flag change. A Beam agent reads an alert from a connected monitoring tool showing errors tied to a specific feature, checks it against the approved rule for automatic rollback, such as a defined error rate over a short window, and switches the flag off in LaunchDarkly. It notifies the team that the rollback happened and why. Cases where the error signal is ambiguous or tied to more than one feature are routed to a human instead of an automatic switch off.
