Routine Leave Approval

Kenjo tracks each employee's leave balance and every time-off request against it. A Beam agent reads a new request and checks it against the account's approved rule, such as sufficient balance and no more than one other person from the same team already out that week, and approves the request automatically once it clears every check. Requests that would leave a team short-staffed, exceed the balance, or fall during a blackout period get routed to the manager instead. The agent never overrides a manager's prior decision or edits a leave balance directly, it only approves within the rule the account has set.

Onboarding Task Reminders

Kenjo assigns a checklist of onboarding tasks to a new hire and their manager, covering items like signing a document or completing a training module. A Beam agent reads task completion status against each item's due date and, when a task is overdue, sends a reminder to whoever owns it, whether that is the new hire, their manager, or HR. Tasks already marked complete are skipped, and a task blocked on something outside Kenjo, like a laptop shipment, is flagged to HR instead of nagged repeatedly. The agent does not mark a task complete on anyone's behalf, only the assigned person can do that.

Review Cycle Follow-Up

Kenjo runs performance review cycles where a manager and employee each submit a form by a set deadline. A Beam agent reads submission status as the deadline nears and, for anyone who has not yet submitted, sends a reminder with the days remaining and a link to the form. Once every form tied to a review pair is in, the agent notifies HR the cycle is ready for the next step. A manager or employee who requested an extension is excluded from reminders until the new deadline set. The agent does not read or judge review content, it only reports submission status.
