Feed Filtering by Saved Rule

Inoreader gathers articles from the feeds an account subscribes to, and a Beam agent can check new items against a saved search or rule, for example a keyword, source, or tag the team cares about. Articles that qualify are filed into a folder or tag inside Inoreader, or passed along to another system such as a shared document or channel. The agent does not decide what counts as relevant beyond the rule it is given. Articles that only partly fit, or come from a feed added outside the approved list, are left for a person to judge.

Read and Starred Item Filing

As a person marks articles read, starred, or saved for later inside Inoreader, a Beam agent can watch for those actions and file the related article into a destination the team uses, such as a research doc or a reading list shared with colleagues. It applies the account's rule for which folder or tag maps to which destination. It does not mark items on the person's behalf. Starred items pointing to a destination the rule does not cover are flagged for a person to file manually.

New Article Notifications

A Beam agent can watch specific Inoreader feeds or tags for a new article and post a notice to the channel or person the account has set up, following the timing and frequency rule in place, for example once per day rather than per article. It includes the article title and the rule that prompted the notice. It does not summarize or comment on the content itself. Feeds producing an unusual volume of hits, which could signal a broken or spammy source, are flagged to a person to check.
