Compare tracked hours against project budgets so an agent can flag overruns and prepare timesheets for a manager to approve.
Timesheet approvals
Hours logged by each team member roll up into a timesheet that a manager reviews before it counts toward payroll or a client invoice. A Beam agent checks incoming timesheets against the approved threshold, for example flagging entries with unusual overtime or missing project codes, and forwards the rest for the normal sign off step. Where a timesheet needs a manual look because it falls outside the pattern the account has approved, for instance a shift far longer than usual, the agent routes it to a manager rather than approving it automatically.
Activity level tracking
Each tracked session records an activity level based on keyboard and mouse input, alongside optional screenshots, giving a rough signal of engagement during logged hours. A Beam agent reads this data to spot sessions with unusually low activity relative to the hours billed, applying whatever threshold the account has approved before flagging the entry. This is not used to judge individual performance directly, only to surface outliers. Any session a rule marks as inconsistent, such as high hours with very low activity, is routed to a manager to review before it is billed or approved.
Project budget tracking
Time logged against a project accumulates toward a budget set for that project, whether measured in hours or cost. A Beam agent watches this running total and notifies the relevant manager once a project approaches or crosses its approved limit, using whichever threshold the account has set. This keeps budget overruns visible without requiring someone to check reports manually. Where the overage is significant or the project lacks a clear owner to notify, the agent routes the case to a person to decide whether the project continues, pauses, or gets rescoped.
