Scheduled performance testing

GTmetrix can run a performance test against a site on a repeating schedule rather than only when someone remembers to check it manually. A Beam agent watches for each new test result as it completes and reads the score along with the specific metrics behind it, such as load time or the count of requests a page makes. Where the result stays within the range the account owner set as acceptable, the agent files it as part of the site's ongoing performance record and takes no further action. Where a test comes back below that range, the agent alerts whoever is responsible for the site rather than letting a slow page go unnoticed until a person happens to look.

Page-level metric breakdown

A single GTmetrix test produces more than one metric, such as how quickly a page becomes visible and how quickly it becomes usable, and a slow score on one metric can point to a different problem than a slow score on another. A Beam agent reads the individual metrics behind an overall score rather than treating the score as one flat number, and notes which specific metric moved when it alerts a person about a drop. This gives whoever picks up the alert a starting point for the problem instead of a bare number to investigate from scratch. Where the cause is not clear from the metrics alone, the agent leaves the diagnosis to a person.

Historical score tracking

Because GTmetrix results accumulate over repeated tests, a single score means less on its own than a score compared against how that same page has performed recently. A Beam agent can hold onto recent results for a page and compare a new test against that recent history rather than judging it only against a fixed threshold, so a page that is trending downward gets flagged even before it crosses an absolute limit the account owner set. Where the trend is unclear, such as a score bouncing between good and bad tests, the agent does not raise an alert on its own and instead leaves that pattern for a person to interpret.
