Check each submitted link against Safe Browsing's threat lists, then clear it or hold it for a person under an approved policy.
Threat List Lookups
Safe Browsing checks a URL against Google's constantly updated lists of unsafe sites and returns a flag if it appears there. A Beam agent submits each new link, such as one pasted into a support ticket or a form field, and reads the result. Under an approved rule, a clean link passes through untouched while a flagged one gets held before it reaches a customer. The agent does not maintain the threat list itself, only queries it. Links the lookup cannot classify, or that come back with a stale or unclear result, are routed to a person to check by hand.
Phishing Detection
Safe Browsing's lists include sites built to imitate a real login page or brand in order to steal credentials. When a Beam agent checks a link and it comes back flagged for phishing specifically, an approved rule can hold the message or ticket containing it rather than letting it reach a customer's inbox or a shared channel. The agent reports the flag rather than deciding whether the site is truly fraudulent. Any link flagged for phishing that also involves an existing customer account or an urgent request is routed to a person to confirm before further action.
Malware Flagging
Some unsafe sites on Safe Browsing's lists are known to carry malware that can install itself on a visitor's device. A Beam agent checks outbound or shared links against this part of the list and, under an approved rule, blocks or strips a malware flagged link from a message before it goes out. It does not scan the file itself, only the URL's standing on Google's list. Links flagged as malware sources that are already in wide internal use, or that a person disputes, are routed to a person to confirm before anything is removed.
