Open Banking Balance Checks

GoCardless Bank Account Data connects to a customer's linked bank accounts through open banking and returns current balances on request. A Beam agent reads the balance for an account on the schedule or trigger a customer sets, for example before a scheduled payment run, and compares it against the approved threshold, such as a minimum float. It notifies finance when a balance sits below that line and updates a tracking sheet or ledger entry accordingly. Balances that look stale, accounts that fail to refresh, or figures that swing sharply since the last check get routed to finance to confirm before anything downstream changes.

Transaction History Retrieval

The connector returns a read only feed of transaction history for each linked account, going back as far as the bank and the customer's consent allow. A Beam agent reads new transactions since the last check and applies the matching rule a customer has approved, for example pairing incoming payments against open invoices by amount and reference. It updates the matched invoice status and notifies accounts of anything still outstanding. Transactions with no clear match, partial payments, or references that do not follow the expected pattern get routed to finance to reconcile manually rather than guessed at.

Consent and Access Monitoring

Open banking access under GoCardless Bank Account Data runs on a consent window that a customer's end user grants and that eventually expires or can be revoked. A Beam agent checks the status of each linked consent against the expiry date on file and notifies the account owner or finance team before access lapses, so a renewal request goes out ahead of time. It updates the internal record once a consent is renewed or withdrawn. Consents that lapse without warning, or accounts that show unexpected access changes, get routed to finance to investigate before any data is relied on.
