Tag Gist contacts based on chat and event activity, automating marketing work like enrolling a visitor in a sequence after a pricing page visit.
Live Chat Triage
Gist's live chat lets a visitor message a business directly from its website widget. A Beam agent reads incoming chat messages and applies the approved rule, for example spotting a common question like a pricing request and answering with the customer's pre-written response, or tagging the conversation for a specific team. It answers only from the scripts and rules the customer has approved. Anything involving a question outside those scripts, a frustrated tone, or a request that sounds like a complaint is routed to a live agent to pick up the conversation from there.
Event-Triggered Email Sequences
Gist tracks events like a page visit, a form fill, or a feature used inside a product, and can enroll a contact in an email sequence once an event fires. A Beam agent watches for the event named in the approved rule, for example a pricing page visit, and enrolls the contact in the matching sequence or removes them from one that no longer applies. It works from events Gist already recorded, not assumptions about intent. Anything involving a contact who replies to a sequence email directly is routed to a person rather than continuing the automated send.
Contact Tagging from Activity
Every chat, email open, and event in Gist rolls up into a contact's activity history. A Beam agent checks that history against the approved rule, for example tagging a contact as sales-ready after three specific actions, and writes the tag to the contact record so the right team sees it. It only applies tags the rule defines, nothing broader. Anything involving conflicting signals, such as high engagement alongside an unsubscribe click, is routed to a human on the marketing or sales team to sort out before a tag goes on.
