Name to Gender Lookup

Genderize takes a first name and returns a likely gender with a probability figure based on aggregated name data. A Beam agent reads a new lead or signup record, sends the first name to Genderize, and writes the result to an approved field once the probability clears a threshold the team has set. Names below that threshold are left unlabeled. This keeps the field limited to cases where the name gives a reasonably clear signal. A person reviews any name the agent cannot resolve confidently before it feeds into downstream segmentation or reporting.

Signup Segmentation by Name

New signups often arrive with only a name and email, and a likely gender field lets a team split them for messaging or reporting without asking directly. A Beam agent reads the Genderize result already attached to a record and adds the contact to an approved segment or tag inside the linked list tool. Contacts without a confident result go into a default segment instead of a guess. A person can move any contact between segments at any time, and the rule the agent applies is limited to whatever criteria the team has signed off on.

Probability Threshold Filtering

Every Genderize response carries a probability figure, and common names return a high figure while rare or mixed use names return a low one. A Beam agent applies an approved minimum probability before writing any result into a live record, and keeps a separate list of names that fall short. That list is sent to a person on a set schedule for a manual look, rather than the agent lowering its own bar to fill more fields. Nothing below the agreed probability reaches a customer facing record without a person confirming it first.
