Append gender predictions to contact records via GenderAPI.io, automating list segmentation like tagging leads for outreach template selection.
Name Based Gender Prediction
GenderAPI.io reads a first name, full name, or email address and returns a predicted gender along with a confidence figure. A Beam agent reads a new or updated contact record, calls GenderAPI.io with the available name or email field, and writes the returned value back to an approved field on the record once the confidence meets a threshold the team has set. Predictions below that threshold are left blank rather than guessed. Contacts with ambiguous or unisex names, or results below the agreed confidence level, get routed to a person to check before the field is used in outreach.
List Segmentation by Predicted Gender
Once contact records carry a predicted gender field, marketing and sales lists can be split for template or messaging choices. A Beam agent reads the predicted gender field alongside other segment criteria a team has approved, and adds the contact to the corresponding list or tag inside the linked tool. Contacts without a confident prediction stay in a default, ungendered segment. Anyone can be moved between segments by a person at any point, and the agent does not use the prediction for anything beyond the segmentation rule it was given.
Confidence Threshold Filtering
Every GenderAPI.io result carries a confidence score, and low scores usually mean a rare, foreign, or unisex name. A Beam agent applies an approved minimum confidence figure before writing a prediction anywhere, and separately holds a short list of names that fall below that figure. That list is sent to a person on a schedule so they can decide whether to research the name manually, leave the field blank, or ask the contact directly. The agent never lowers the threshold on its own or writes a low confidence guess into a live record.
