KPI Threshold Notifications

Geckoboard displays metrics pulled from a connected data source on a shared dashboard. A Beam agent reads a metric's current value against an approved threshold set for that KPI and, when the value crosses the line, notifies the responsible team lead so the shift gets attention without someone watching the dashboard. This applies the same watch to every KPI on a dashboard rather than someone scanning numbers on a screen all day. Metrics with a stale data source, a recent definition change, or a value that looks like a data error are routed to a human before an alert goes out.

Connected Data Source Refresh

Geckoboard pulls values from a connected source, such as a spreadsheet or database, on a schedule the account sets. A Beam agent watches for a refresh failure or a source returning no new data and, following an approved rule, notifies the dashboard owner so the gap gets fixed before decisions rely on outdated numbers. This covers every connected source on a dashboard at once instead of someone checking each feed individually. Failures tied to a source outside the approved connector list, or an unclear cause, are routed to a human to investigate.

Shared Dashboard Display

Geckoboard organizes metrics into dashboards shared across a team, often shown on an office screen or shared link. A Beam agent reads which dashboard a metric belongs to and applies an approved rule for who gets notified about it, matching an alert to the team that owns that dashboard rather than sending it broadly. This keeps alerts targeted correctly even as new dashboards and metrics get added over time. Dashboards with overlapping ownership or a metric recently moved between dashboards are routed to a human to confirm the right recipient.
