Merge two contact records in FullContact when an identity match clears the approved confidence threshold, sparing a team from combining the same person by hand.
Identity Match Confidence
FullContact scores how likely two contact records describe the same person and returns a confidence level with each match. A Beam agent reads new matches as they come in and applies the account's approved threshold: merging the records automatically when confidence clears that bar, or logging the pair for later when it sits close to the line. Matches that fall below the threshold, involve conflicting core fields such as different verified emails, or touch a record flagged as do not merge are routed to a human to review before anything is combined.
Contact Record Merging
When FullContact identifies duplicate entries for the same individual, a Beam agent applies the customer's approved merge rule, keeping the most complete or most recent field values and updating the surviving record in the connected CRM or marketing tool. The agent notifies the record owner once a merge completes so downstream lists stay accurate, and it keeps a note of which fields came from which original record for later reference. Records with conflicting ownership, opt out flags, or unresolved disputes between which entry should survive are left alone and routed to a human to sort out before any merge happens.
Enriched Field Updates
FullContact can return additional details, such as a job title or company name, for a contact record already in a connected system. A Beam agent reads these enrichment results and, following an approved rule, fills in fields that are currently blank on the customer's record without overwriting information the team already entered by hand. Where an enrichment result conflicts with existing data, comes from a low confidence source, or touches a field the customer marked as protected, the update is routed to a human to confirm first.
