Cross-Border Tax Compliance

A Beam agent reads the tax and duty calculations DigitalRiver applies to an order at checkout and checks them against the record a customer keeps for a given country or region. Where the connector and account permissions allow it, the agent updates an order's tax status in a shared system once DigitalRiver confirms the filing, so finance has an accurate record without re-entering it by hand. Orders in a new jurisdiction, a rate that looks out of line with prior orders, or a dispute from a customer are routed to a human before the record is closed out.

Order and Refund Records

A Beam agent watches for new orders and refund requests coming through DigitalRiver and updates a company's order management system with the status, amount, and currency involved for each one. Where a customer-approved rule allows it, a standard refund within a set window is marked complete and the customer is notified automatically without a person touching the ticket. A refund past the standard window, a chargeback, or an order flagged for possible fraud is left open and routed to a human, who decides how to proceed before the record is closed.

Localized Checkout Records

A Beam agent reads which payment methods and currencies DigitalRiver presented to a buyer at checkout in a given country and compares completion rates against a baseline the customer supplies. Where the data supports it, the agent notes a country or payment method with a notable drop in completed orders and adds it to a report for the commerce team. It does not add, remove, or reprice payment methods on its own. Any change to which methods are offered in a market is a decision left to a human with DigitalRiver account access.
