Flag meaningful differences between document versions compared in Diffchecker and leave a note for whoever owns the file.
Document Version Comparison Notes
Diffchecker compares two versions of a text document and marks every line that has changed, been added, or been removed. A Beam agent reads that comparison output and applies the customer's approved rule for what counts as a meaningful change, such as ignoring whitespace or formatting while flagging changes to actual wording or figures. A comparison showing only minor, ignorable differences gets noted and closed out. A comparison showing a meaningful change gets summarized and passed to whoever owns the document, with the specific lines affected called out, so a person decides whether the change needs approval.
Image Difference Checks
Diffchecker can compare two images and highlight the pixels or regions that differ between them, which is useful for catching an unintended change between design or document exports. A Beam agent reads the comparison result and applies the customer's approved threshold for how much difference counts as notable, since minor rendering differences are common and not usually worth a person's time. A comparison under that threshold is noted and closed. A comparison showing a difference over the threshold gets flagged to the person who owns the file pair, with both images referenced, for a manual look.
Folder Comparison Summaries
Diffchecker can compare two folders and list which files were added, removed, or changed between them, which is useful when checking release files or an exported archive against a previous version. A Beam agent reads that folder level comparison and applies the customer's approved rule for what changes matter, such as flagging removed files as more significant than files that only moved location. A comparison with no significant changes gets a short note added and nothing further happens. A comparison with files removed or substantially changed gets flagged to whoever owns that folder, with the specific file list included.
