Answer routine Dexatel text replies with an approved template and hand off anything outside the script to a person.
Templated Reply Matching
Dexatel delivers inbound text replies from customers into a shared conversation view. A Beam agent reads an incoming message and checks it against the set of approved reply templates the customer has defined, such as a confirmation, a simple yes or no, or a request for store hours. A message matching a known template gets an immediate reply delivered through Dexatel using that approved wording. A message that doesn't clearly match any template, contains a complaint, or asks something outside the defined scripts gets left for a person to answer directly instead of a guessed response going out.
Opt out Handling
Text messaging rules require honoring stop or opt out requests quickly, and Dexatel flags these keywords when they arrive in a conversation. A Beam agent reads a message flagged as an opt out request and applies the customer's approved approach, typically updating the contact's messaging status so no further texts go out to that number. The change is confirmed back in Dexatel automatically. Anything ambiguous, such as a message that might be an opt out or might just be a complaint about frequency, gets routed to a person to interpret rather than acted on automatically.
Delivery Failure Notices
Dexatel reports when a text fails to deliver, whether from an invalid number, a carrier block, or another delivery problem. A Beam agent reads these failure notices and applies the customer's approved retry rule, such as attempting once more after a short delay for a temporary carrier issue. A message that succeeds on retry needs no further attention. A repeated or permanent failure, such as an invalid number, gets flagged to whoever owns that contact so the number can be checked and corrected by hand rather than retried indefinitely.
