OSINT Data Enrichment

Defastra pulls in open-source information, public records, social profiles and breach data to form a picture around an account or transaction. A Beam agent reads a record flagged for a closer look, requests the enrichment, and applies the account's rule for what the added context means, for example a mismatch between a stated address and public records. Where the rule calls for it, the agent updates the record with the enrichment or notifies a fraud analyst. Cases where the enrichment is thin, contradictory, or ties to a real person the rule has no guidance for, are left for a person to work through.

Fraud Pattern Matching

Defastra looks for patterns across accounts, like shared devices, addresses or contact details, that tend to show up in coordinated fraud. A Beam agent reads a pattern match against the account's rule for what counts as suspicious, for instance several new accounts sharing one phone number, and updates a case queue or notifies the fraud team when the threshold is met. Matches that involve a small overlap, or a pattern the rule hasn't been tuned for, are routed to a person rather than acted on directly. This keeps pattern matches as a prompt for a person's judgment, not an automatic block.

Case Notes for Fraud Analysts

When a case gets opened, Defastra can attach the OSINT context gathered on the accounts involved so an analyst isn't starting from a blank record. A Beam agent reads a newly opened case, pulls in the enrichment tied to it under the account's rule, and updates the case notes with a summary rather than a raw data dump. Cases involving a person of public interest, or data conflicting enough that summarising it risks losing nuance, are left for a person to read through directly. This gives analysts a starting point without deciding the outcome of the case for them.
