Notify a manager when a shift request or time-off entry lands in Connecteam, then update the schedule once it's approved.
Shift Scheduling
Connecteam holds the shift schedule for a team, including who is assigned to a role at a given time and any open shift still needing a person. A Beam agent reads a shift request or swap submitted by staff and, under the rule the team has approved, updates the schedule and notifies the manager once the change fits the coverage the team requires. Requests that fit an approved swap policy update without a manager stepping in first. A request that would leave a shift uncovered, or one outside the agreed swap window, is routed to a manager to decide.
GPS Time Clock Entries
Connecteam records when a staff member clocks in and out along with the location the entry was made from, giving an office a record of hours worked by site. A Beam agent reads time clock entries against an approved job or location and updates the linked timesheet or payroll file, applying the rounding rule the team has set for that pay period. Entries that fall inside the normal shift window move through without a check. An entry made outside the expected job site, or a shift running well past its scheduled length, is routed to a person before payroll is finalized.
Team Chat and Updates
Connecteam carries company updates and team chat messages out to staff on their phones, alongside the schedule and time clock. A Beam agent reads a reply or acknowledgment to a posted update and, where the rule allows it, notifies a manager once everyone on an approved list has confirmed they've seen it, rather than someone checking the list by hand. Updates that get acknowledged on the expected timeline close out without a chase. A message that raises a question, a complaint, or goes unacknowledged past an agreed deadline is routed to a manager to follow up.
