Outline based task lists

Checkvist organizes tasks as a nested outline, where items can be grouped under parent lines and collapsed or expanded. A Beam agent reads the outline for items matching an approved condition, such as a specific tag or a parent heading, and updates their status as work is completed elsewhere. It writes the change back into the outline so the list stays current for the team. When an item's place in the outline is unclear or a parent task is missing, the agent leaves the reordering to a person.

Tag based filtering

Checkvist lets tasks carry tags so a list can be filtered down to a specific set of items. A Beam agent reads items under an approved tag on a set schedule and checks each one against the rule it follows, such as whether a due date has passed. It writes an updated tag or note onto matching items and notifies the owner of anything that needs attention. If an item carries conflicting tags, the agent routes it to a person instead of choosing one. The agent checks tags on a schedule set by the team, not continuously.

Due date tracking

Checkvist stores a due date on individual tasks so deadlines can be tracked across a list. A Beam agent checks due dates against the current date on a schedule and applies an approved rule, for example marking an item overdue or notifying the assigned person. It writes the updated status back into Checkvist so the list reflects reality. When a due date is missing or a task depends on another that has not closed, the agent leaves the item for a person to resolve. The agent does not reschedule a due date on its own, only flags what the rule tells it to flag.
