A Beam agent reads a new submission as it comes in, checks it against the approved criteria, such as required fields being complete or the category being valid, and approves or publishes it automatically when the rule is clearly met. It can notify the submitter of the outcome either way. Listings that are incomplete, flagged for content concerns, or fall outside the defined categories are routed to a moderator to review before publishing.

Manage member subscriptions and renewals

Membership sites built on Brilliant Directories track subscription status and renewal dates for each member. A Beam agent reads upcoming renewals or lapses, applies the approved rule, such as sending a reminder at a set number of days before expiry or updating a member's access level once a payment is confirmed, and updates the record. Where a payment fails, a member disputes a charge, or a renewal needs a manual adjustment, such as a discount or extension, the case is routed to a person to resolve.

A Beam agent reads changes reported elsewhere, such as an updated address or phone number, and applies the approved update to the matching listing or profile, keeping the directory current without someone editing each entry by hand. Where no confident match exists between the source of the change and a listing, or a proposed edit affects a paid or featured listing, the update is left for a person to make directly.
