Approve and update Breathe employee records, leave requests, and absence data, automating HR work like processing time off, tracking sickness, and updating personnel files.
Track employee leave requests and balances
Breathe holds each employee's leave requests, entitlement, and remaining balance. A Beam agent reads a new leave request as it comes in, checks it against the approved policy, such as notice period or remaining balance, and either approves it or updates the record automatically when the rule is clearly met. It can also notify the employee or manager of the outcome. Requests that fall outside policy, overlap with existing leave, or involve an exception a manager needs to weigh in on are routed to the manager for a decision instead of being resolved automatically.
Record absence and return to work data
When an employee logs a sickness or other absence in Breathe, a Beam agent reads the entry and applies the approved rule for what happens next, such as logging a return to work step, updating an absence count, or notifying HR once a threshold, like a number of occurrences in a period, is reached. This keeps the record current without someone checking it manually. Cases involving a pattern that needs a conversation, a long absence, or a policy question are left for HR or the line manager to handle directly.
Keep employee records current across the team
Breathe stores core employee details such as role, team, and contact information. A Beam agent can read this data on a schedule and apply an approved update when a trigger fires, for example changing a status when a start or end date passes, or updating a field once a change is confirmed elsewhere. It keeps records aligned without someone re-entering the same change twice. Any change to sensitive details, such as pay or personal information, is routed to HR to make directly rather than update automatically.
